Female Breast Reduction

Breast Reduction

Breast reduction, or reduction mammoplasty, is for a woman experiencing health problems and/or extreme self-consciousness associated with very large, heavy breasts. The goal is to give the woman a more attractive contour with smaller, better-shaped breasts in proportion with the rest of her body. She will then benefit from freedom of health problems associated with large breasts and an improved self-image.

Breast Reduction is now becoming a much more popular operation than 10 years ago. Most women who choice to have this procedure have suffered physical pain especially in the neck and shoulder areas as well as the inability to find suitable clothes to wear. Concealing their breast size is what clothes shopping becomes all about. As we have a surgeon here with PhD in Breast Surgery, his technique in this operation is second to none.

We have surveyed over 50 patients in the past 6 months who have been more than surprised with the relatively quick recovery rate from this procedure.

We are well aware that scarring on the breast is a hugh concern for many women contemplating this surgery. In this regard, we are very fortunate to have performing this surgery, surgeons that can reduce the breast with just the vertical or lollipop scar. This minimises scarring on the breast and there is no need for the anchor scar unless absolutely necessary. You will find it difficult to find surgeons in Ireland that can perform this operation in this manner and consequently we believe we carry out more of this procedure at Cosmedico than anywhere else.

This operation will require an overnight stay in our clinic where all Cosmedico clients will be assured by the expertise of a highly trained nursing team and also enjoy the comfort and discretion that our private rooms, all equipped with flat screen television, can offer them.

ALL PATIENTS ATTENDING COSMEDICO WILL BE SEEN BY A PLASTIC SURGEON DULY REGISTERED ON THE PLASTIC/AESTHETIC REGISTER WITH THE IRISH MEDICAL COUNCIL.
