Ear surgery otherwise known as otoplasty, is usually performed on prominent ears in order to set them back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. Many people find themselves very self-conscious about their ears – women not being comfortable putting their hair up and men also keeping their hair longer than they wish to, to avoid the embarrassment that they feel.
This procedure can be performed on children as well as adults.
The operation can be performed under local or general anaesthetic.
