Juvederm Facial Fillers

As we age, the underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plumped up begin to break down, often leaving laughter lines, smile lines, crow’s feet or deep creases over the areas where movement occurs. Injectable filers can help fill these lines and creases, creating a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance. When injected beneath the skin, fillers plump up creased and sunken areas of the face.

Dermal fillers can also be used to provide better definition to certain features. They are often used to create plumper lips for a pretty pout, or to raise cheekbones.

Juvéderm® ULTRA is a new non surgical dermal filler that not only fills wrinkles effectively but gently too. It is a range of smooth consistency gels made of hyaluronic acid (HA) - a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration.

Juvéderm® ULTRA range also uniquely contains 0.3% Lidocaine local anaesthetic making the injection process particularly gentle. It is available in a choice of concentrations designed to be used in different areas of the face.

Dermal fillers for lines and wrinkles

Dermal Fillers: How long does it take?

The treatment itself takes up to half an hour (the injection process itself is 15-20 minutes). You will see the benefit immediately. The results can last around 6-9 months and up to a year depending on the individual. With repeated treatments over time, the benefit of fillers builds up so that the effects last longer and deliver greater benefits.

What's the difference between Juvéderm® ULTRA and other wrinkle-relaxing treatments?

The Juvéderm® ULTRA range of products and wrinkle-relaxing treatments (botulinum toxin type A) work in different ways.

The Juvéderm® ULTRA range of products mimics the hydrating and lifting effect of your skin’s natural hyaluronic acid (HA), which keeps the skin hydrated and elastic. It fills in and smoothes away facial lines and acne scars, other skin contour deficiencies, and lost volume. The most appropriate lines to treat with the Juvéderm® ULTRA range of products are those that are described as static - this means the deep facial lines you can see when your face is still. Static lines are due to lack of elasticity of the skin caused by sun damage, smoking, and unfortunately genetics. Wrinkle-relaxing treatments work in a targeted way to relax the tiny dynamic muscles that cause frown lines, smoothing out wrinkles for 4 months or longer.

Is it painful?

Injections can cause discomfort even when a very fine needle is used, as is the case with Juvéderm® ULTRA. However, the addition of local anaesthetic makes the injection experience greatly improved and a lot less painful than other fillers.

What can I expect from my JUVEDERM ULTRA® treatment?

You can expect immediate results. After the first JUVEDERM ULTRA® treatment there is a real difference, with a softening of facial lines, wrinkles and scars as well as an improvement in lines around the mouth. Some swelling and reddening may appear which usually fades quite quickly.
